After choosing a single reiserfs partition for / and activating a swap partition, installation proceeds with the copy progress bar reaching almost to the end. Then, a screen appears with the message, "Copying files (rsync) failed with code 23". Pushing the OK button causes a reboot.
This is the result for both a verified dvd burn of the iso and dd to flash card in a usb reader. Following instructions at bug 5751, where I've reported more details of my attempts, here are the contents of files_copy_error.log:
