KTouch - 100% CPU Usage

This probably a bug of KTouch application, but googling the issue does not get me any similar reported bug.
Before submitting a new bug, I would like to ask here, if it is actually a bug.
While typing fast, KTouch consumes 100% of my CPU (Desktop: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.50GHz | Laptop: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU L7500 @ 1.60GHz), which results in lagging visualizations of the typed characters and makes it very difficult to use the program.
Since I've never used KTouch in the past and I don't know how CPU hungry it is (although I doubt it), I would like to ask other Forum users if they also have performance issues.
Eventually there are users here with much more modern hardware than me, thus we will be able to establish whether this is a bug or not!
