I have just installed the latest version of ROSA FRESH on my Dell Vostro laptop. I proceeded to install the latest binary for SpiderOak; it installed fine. However, whenever I launch SpiderOak it gets stuck on the splash screen. After maybe a minute or two, the splash screen and the tray icon both disappear. When I try to start SpiderOak again from the terminal, I get the following:
[mark@ROSA-laptop ~]$ SpiderOak
Gui has already been started, exiting
This is repeatable and has occurred even after reboot. Any suggestions?
UPDATE: I was able to resolve the issue if I run it as root but that seems unsafe. Any thoughts?

Re: SpiderOak
I just installed SpiderOak 64bit to test this.
Can not confirm. SpiderOak started and connected successfully.
After spash screen you have to see login dialog. May be this window loose focus and you cannot find them.
Run SpiderOak from konsole and look to debug messages.
I see
But this seems to be noncritical.

Re: SpiderOak
The login dialog never appears unless running as root. When running "SpiderOak --verbose" the splash screen appears but no additional information is output in Konsole. This must be a permissions issue but I am not certain how to resolve it.

Re: SpiderOak
I believe the problem was that I installed SpiderOak as root. I uninstalled and then reinstalled. Now things are working normally.
