Hi all,
In the past week I have not been able to download the updates that urpmi.update lists when I first log in to desktop.
We have dial up at home, so I use kppp or wget, but a week ago I tried a public wireless hotspot as I now have Rosa on a laptop. That is when I noticed I could not 'ping' the repository, but I could surf (ping) the internet using browser. Back home, dial up gives me the same problem.
In terminal/konsole, as root:
"urpmi --auto-update"
and get a curl 7 error. I then switched global options to 'wget' and get:
retrieving failed: wget failed: exited with 4
I had no idea what problem was, so I tried to remove the repo and add it back:
"urpmi.removemedia -a"
then
"urpmi.addmedia --distrib ftp colon //mirror.yandex.ru/rosa/rosa2012lts/repository/x86_64/
...retrieving failed: wget failed: exited with 4
unable to access the distribution medium (no media.cfg file found)
unable to add medium"
I found the following,
http://mandrivausers.org/index.php?/top ... ge__st__15
but they don't mention the details to solve it. The system settings>network settings are set to 'no proxy'.
I'm using Mandriva Poca LTS 2012 for 64 bit. Much obliged to any suggestions for my problem.
Regards, Lisa

Re: problem pinging the repository after using wifi hot spot
Simple use addmedia options from drakrpm-edit-media instead manual adding media

Something I did not try, assuming if the action I gave with command line did not work than certainly the GUI will not. akdengi, yes, simple and thank you!
